IOWA CITY, Iowa – – The University of Iowa athletics department and the national I-Club will host Meet the Hawkeyes – Winter Edition, Thursday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The free event is planned exclusively for I-Club members and winter sports (men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling, and men’s and women’s gymnastics) season ticket holders. The event begins with Hawkeye fans being able to view the final portion of the men’s basketball practice, the night before the season-opening contest.
The Hawkeye men open the season Friday, Nov. 11, hosting Kennesaw State at 8:30 p.m. as part of a basketball doubleheader. That contest is immediately following the women’s season opening contest against Oral Roberts at 6 p.m.
Following basketball practice, fans will have the opportunity to view the new videoboards in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, while hearing from head coaches Lisa Bluder, Tom Brands, Larissa Libby, Fran McCaffery, and JD Reive, along with select student-athletes representing each of the five sports.
Entertainment throughout the evening will also feature Herky and the Iowa Spirit Squad, the Hawkeye Pep Band, and an autograph session. The Hawkeye Fan Shop will be open on the concourse and limited concessions will be available for purchase.
Public parking will be available in Lots 40 and 33 west of Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and Lot 75 to the south. Fans are asked to enter through the north, west and south entrances, and to sit in sections C, B, A, AA, BB, and CC. Elevator access to arena seats will be available to those needing assistance.
