IOWA CITY, Iowa — For a third consecutive year, University of Iowa senior Ally Disterhoft has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-District first team honoree, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.

Academic All-District teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Disterhoft will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second, and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Disterhoft, the 2015-16 Academic All-American of the Year, earns her third Academic All-District honor. The finance and accounting major garnered first-team Academic All-America honors in each of the past two seasons, and was the only sophomore to receive the honor in 2015. Disterhoft is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and second-team All-Big Ten selection.

The Iowa City, Iowa, native ranks second on the team in scoring (16.0) and rebounding (5.4). She is second on Iowa’s all-time career scoring list with 1,910 career points and is 149 points from tying Iowa’s all-time scoring record of 2,059 points set by Cindy Haugejorde in 1980.

Disterhoft and the Hawkeyes return to the court tonight, hosting Michigan State at 6 p.m. (CT). It’s Buck Night as tickets are $1 for adults and free for youth (18 & younger) and UI students.
