Hawkeyes Fall at No. 27 Illinois

URBANA, Ill. — The University of Iowa men’s tennis team was defeated by No. 27 Illinois (11-9, 4-2), 6-1, on Saturday in windy conditions at the Atkins Tennis Center.
 
Junior Josh Silverstein picked up a win at two over Illinois’ Gui Gomes, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. The native of Great Neck, New York, improved to four wins in the two spot this season.
 
In doubles action, senior Nils Hallestrand and sophomore Jonas Larsen notched a 6-3 victory over Illinois’ Zeke Clark and Gomes.
 
The Hawkeyes (11-10, 1-5) are back in action on Sunday in Evanston, Illinois, versus No. 21 Northwestern at Noon (CT).
