IOWA CITY, Iowa — Two University of Iowa rowing student-athletes — seniors Morgan Grastorf and Cristy Hartman — have been named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division I All-Region Athletes, announced the CRCA.

This is the third all-region honor for Grastorf, who was named to the region 4 first team. She earned all-region honors in 2014 and 2015 and was named an All-American in 2015. This is the first honor for Hartman, who was named to the region 4 second team.

Grastorf and Hartman appeared in seven competitions on the 1V8+ crew in 2017. They helped guide the Hawkeyes to a 15th place finish overall at the NCAA Championship on May 28.

The all-region award recognizes the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains. Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team’s regional finish, coaches recommendations, and 2,000-meter erg score.

“Morgan and Cristy did a terrific job this year as rock-solid members of our first 8+,” said UI head coach Andrew Carter. “They were such an important part of the success of that crew. I’m so pleased for them both to be recognized as seniors in what turned out to be a true capstone season for them.”
