IOWA CITY, Iowa — Junior Briana Guillory has been named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Wednesday.
Guillory won the honor after setting two personal bests at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational over the weekend. Guillory ran lifetime bests in the 200 meters (23.26) and 400 meters (52.57) on her way to sweeping the events and claiming the top spot in the conference.
The 2016 Big Ten Freshman of the Year ranks fifth in Division I in the 400 meters and 12th in the 200 meters.
Guillory is the first woman in program history to win multiple weekly conference awards in a season and is one of two athletes to lead the conference in multiple events.
Guillory leads a group of Hawkeyes to the Tyson Invitational, hosted by Arkansas this weekend, while another group will compete at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
