COLUMBUS, Ohio — University of Iowa freshman Jayah Mathews opened competition at the 2018 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday at the McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion. She placed 47th off the 1-meter springboard in the prelims with a score of 244.00.

Sophomore Hannah Burvill will compete in the 200-yard freestyle event on Friday, with finals beginning at 4 p.m. (CT).
