Fujitani Finishes Under Par in Round 2

Tempe, Ariz. — Freshman Rachel Fujitani utilized four birdies to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team in the second round of the Arizona State Invitational on Saturday.  The Hawkeyes are in 14th with a two-round score of 607 (+31).
 
No. 17 Oklahoma State is in first after 36-holes with a score of 569 (-7).  They are followed by No. 16 Washington (573; -3) and TCU (575; -1).
 
FUJITANI’S UNDER PAR ROUND
Freshman Rachel Fujitani carded her first round at-or-below par as a Hawkeye, firing a 71 (-1) in round two — a career best 18-hole score.  She shot four birdies on the back nine to jump 20 spots on the leaderboard in the second round.  With 18 holes left to play she has a 36-hole score of 147 (+3) — a career best — and is tied for 26th.
 
COMPETING INDIVIDUALLY
Redshirt freshman Sarah Overton carded a second-round score of 83 (+11).  After 36 holes of play, she is tied for 79th with a score of 162 (+18).
