MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — University of Iowa men’s tennis student-athletes concluded competition Saturday at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.

Sophomore Will Davies, who won his previous three singles matches the first two days of competition, dropped his quarterfinals match to ninth-seeded Luca Wiedenmann of Tennessee in three sets (5-7, 6-3, 6-1). In the consolation bracket, junior Kareem Allaf beat Chase Colton of Wisconsin in straight sets (6-4, 6-3), while senior Jonas Larsen lost to Wisconsin’s Robert Krill (6-4, 3-6, 11-9).

Davies and Smietana lost their Round of 16 doubles match to Notre Dame’s Gamble/Howells (6-3).

Iowa returns to action on Sept. 29, when the team will travel to the ITA All-American Championships held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
