AUSTIN, Texas — Freshman Oliver Okonkwo and sophomore Joe Tyler had continued success on Sunday at the Longhorn Invitational on Sunday.
 
Okonkwo was crowned Flight B White champion, while Tyler advanced all the way to the championship match in the Flight C Gold after three straight victories. 
 
In Okonkwo’s Flight B championship matchup he faced off against Miami’s Kaya Gore. Okonkwo beat Gore in a tight three-set match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. Tyler fell in his match (6-4, 6-3) to Houston’s Mohamed Abdel-Aziz. 
 
The Hawkeyes have concluded their fall season and will return to action for their home opener Jan. 19, 2019, when they host Western Michigan and Marquette in a doubleheader.
