IOWA CITY, Iowa — The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches association (USTFCCCA) released the 2019 preseason poll on Thursday, ranking the Hawkeye men 26th in the country and the women at 37th.
The Hawkeyes join the Big Ten’s Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Wisconsin in the top 40.
Iowa opens 2019 hosting the Hawkeye Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The meet begins Friday at 1 p.m. (CT) with the weight throw at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. Jumps begin at 10 a.m. (CT) on Saturday at the UI Rec Building. Running events start at 12:30 p.m. (CT) with the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries.
