THIS WEEK
The University of Iowa men’s and women’s cross country teams travel to South Bend, Indiana to compete in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitation on Friday. The Hawkeyes compete at Notre Dame Burke Memorial Golf Course. The women’s
5,000-meter race begins at 12 p.m. (CT). The men’s 8,000 meters begins at 12:45 p.m. (CT) Admission for spectators is free.

NOTRE DAME BURKE MEMORIAL GOLF COURSE
The course is set to host the 64th annual Joe Piane-Notre Dame Invitational on Friday. The course is located on the South West corner of Notre Dame campus with scenic views of the Golden Dome and Basilica.

HAWKEYES ARE UNDEFEATED
The University of Iowa men’s and women’s cross country team placed first overall for the second meet in a row on Sept. 21 at Nebraska. The last time both the men and women’s team when into the third meet undefeated was 2010.

IN THE RANKINGS
The women jump to seventh in the USTFCCCA Week 2 poll behind fellow Big Ten teams Minnesota (3), Illinois (4), and Northwestern (6). The men stay steady at sixth in the poll. Only Minnesota (4) ranks higher among Big Ten schools in the region.

FRESHMAN ON TOP
Freshman Leah Kralovetz led the women’s team at the 2019 Woody Greeno Invite on Sept. 21. Out of 189 women, Kralovetz placed fourth with a personal best 17:31.4 in the 5,000 meters. She placed eighth at the Hawkeye Invitational on Sept. 6, her first collegiate meet.

MEN’S TOP RUNNERS
Senior Nathan Mylenek returns to the Notre Dame Invitational as the top Hawkeye competitor from the Woody Greeno Invite on Sept. 21. Mylenek finished fourth overall (24:44.8). Sophomore Spencer Smith is the Hawkeyes’ top returner from the 2018 Notre Dame Invite, placing 12th (25:51.2). Four seniors compete for the third time at this invitational, Nathan Mylenek, Brandon Cooley, Karson Sommer, and Daniel Murphy. The men placed ninth at the 2018 Notre Dame Invite.

WOMEN’S TOP RUNNERS
Freshman Leah Kralovetz is the top finisher for the women’s team at the Woody Greeno Invite on Sept. 21. She came in fourth out of 189 (17:31.4). Senior Megan Schott finished eighth (17:41.7). The women placed seventh at the 2018 Notre Dame Invite.

HAWKEYE NEWCOMERS
Three new athletes ran at the Woody Greeno Invite on Sept. 21. Nick Trattner placed 45th (26:00.6). For the women, Leah Kralovetz was the women’s top finisher in fourth (17:31.4). Maggie Gutwein finished in the top 50 (19:11.2).

MYLENEK NAMED BIG TEN ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
After leading Iowa to a first-place finish at the Hawkeye Invitational on Sept. 6, Mylenek was named Big Ten Athlete of the Week. The Big Ten weekly honor is the first of Mylenek’s career, and the first by a Hawkeye men’s cross country runner since Jeff Thode won the award in 2010.

NEXT UP FOR THE HAWKEYES
The Hawkeyes head to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete at Pre-Nationals on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. (CT).
