IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year. It is the 13th straight year the Hawkeyes have received the recognition.
Iowa was among a total of 644 women’s soccer teams from across the country to receive the honor. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.
The Hawkeyes held a 3.38 team grade point average during the 2018-19 academic year. The program has received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award 17 times in its history.
Iowa returns to action Thursday, hosting Nebraska at 7 p.m. (CT) at the Iowa Soccer Complex. Admission is free.
