IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa baseball team pounded Indian Hills Community College, 16-1, in 14 innings Wednesday night at Duane Banks Field.  The Hawkeyes finish the fall season with a 3-0 record.
 
Iowa’s pitchers limited the Warriors to six hits over 14 innings and 12 pitchers struck out 19 batters, while issuing just four walks. 
 
Sophomore Drew Irvine struck out three over two innings, while junior Cam Baumann, junior Trenton Wallace, senior Trace Hoffman, senior Adam Ketelsen, junior Ben Beutel, and junior Dylan Nedved all pitched 1-2-3 innings.
 
Over the last two games, Iowa’s pitching staff has allowed 10 hits over 28 innings and the Hawkeyes have 38 strikeouts to seven walks.
 
Offensively, the Hawkeyes pounded out 17 hits with seven going for extra bases.  Sophomore Brendan Sher finished 4-for-7 with two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs, while Wallace was 2-for-4 with a home run and a team-high five RBIs.
 
Freshman Peyton Williams (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBIs, 4 BB), senior Austin Martin (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBIs), freshman D.J. Heck (2-for-4), and freshman Sam Link (2-for-3) all had two-hit games.
 
Iowa closes out the fall season next week, hosting the Black & Gold World Series from Oct. 16-18 at Duane Banks Field.
