IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa senior Kathleen Doyle was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women’s Basketball second team on Monday.
CoSIDA Academic All-America teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Doyle double majors in journalism & mass communications and Spanish with a 3.83 grade-point average. She was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team this season and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was a 2018-19 Distinguished Scholar Athlete.
The La Grange Park, Illinois, native leads the Big Ten conference in total assists (189) and assists per game (6.3), ranking sixth and seventh in the NCAA, respectively. Doyle also ranks in the nation’s top 50 in in four additional categories, including 19th in free throws made (147), 30th in free throw attempts (186), 37th in total points (544), and 49th in points per game (18.1).
Doyle and the Hawkeyes are awaiting their NCAA Tournament fate, which will be announced on Monday, March 16 at 6 p.m. (CT) on ESPN.
