IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa junior Bennet Huang was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Huang won the all-around with a score of 81.200 when the No. 9 Hawkeyes competed at No. 4 Ohio State on March 7. The honor was Huang’s third all-around title of 2020.
The all-around score moves Huang into fourth in the nation in the event with a national qualifying average of 80.833.
In addition, Huang’s performance on pommel horse was a season-best (13.650).
This is Huang’s second Big Ten honor of his career. Huang was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week March 12, 2018.
The Hawkeyes host No. 2 Michigan for their final meet inside Carver Hawkeye Arena March 15 at 2:30 p.m. (CT). The meet will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
