Iowa City, Iowa – Corporate partners of the University of Iowa Athletics Department will deliver supplies to the Cedar Rapids community, impacted by the Aug. 10 Derecho, on Thursday.
The official Windstar Hawkeye team bus, powered by Iowa Soybean Biodiesel, will arrive at the Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee (1843 Johnson Ave NW) at 11 a.m. (CT) on Thursday.
Hawkeye partners will provide over 2,500 bottles of water from Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling and face masks from Authentic Brand. MidWestOne and Iowa Corn are teaming with Hy-Vee to cook 1,000 lunches.
The Hawkeye bus will also travel through impacted areas during the day until all supplies have been distributed.
