CORALVILLE, Iowa — University of Iowa senior Jaydin Eierman outscored his opponents 29-0 in three matches Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2020 U.S. Senior Nationals at Xtream Arena.
Eierman, the No. 2 seed at 65 kilograms, opened with 10-0 and 11-0 technical falls, and closed the session with a pin against No. 7 Ethan Lizak in three minutes, 35 seconds. Eierman led Lizak 8-0 before getting the fall 35 seconds into the second period.
Eierman wrestles No. 7 Matthew Kolodzik later today in the quarterfinals. Session II begins at 4 p.m. (CT). The semifinals and consolation rounds continue Saturday. Placement matches are Sunday at 10 a.m. The finals begin Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Former Hawkeye Jeremiah Moody split a pair of matches at 74 kg. He returns to action in the consolation round Saturday afternoon.
