Hawkeyes Finish 8th at FAU Paradise Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The University of Iowa women’s golf team competed at the Florida Atlantic Paradise Invitational, Feb. 8-9. The Hawkeyes collected a three-round team score of 896 (+32), finishing in eighth place.

Michigan State won the meet with a total score of 858 (-6), Maryland placed second with a 54-hole total of 859 (-5), and No. 13 Vanderbilt placed third with a total score of 860 (-4).

“It felt so good to be back on the road and in competition together. We had some strong moments, and we are glad to know what to focus on the next few weeks. It was great to see Jacque (Galloway) fire an under par round yesterday (Feb. 8), and Klara in her debut looked very steady.”

HOW IT HAPPENED

In her Hawkeye debut, freshman Klara Wildhaber scored a three-round total of 222 (+6), recorded six birdies, and finished 38 holes at par.

Sophomore Morgan Goldstein finished with a three-round score of 222 (+6). Goldstein finished the first round one over par, collected 4 birdies, and finished 41 holes at par.

Sophomore Jacque Galloway also finished three-rounds with a score of 222 (+6). Galloway finished the second round with a team-low score of 71 (-1), 8 birdies, and 33 holes at par.

Sophomore Dana Lerner collected a three-round score of 234 (+18). Lerner finished 21 holes at par and tallied five birdies.

Sophomore Lea Zeitler, finished with a 54-hole total of 239 (+23). Zeitler gathered two birdies, and finished 34 holes at par.

The Hawkeyes travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete at the Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail Country Club on Feb. 15-16.
