NCAA Releases Seeds for National Tournament

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Four University of Iowa wrestlers are seeded sixth or better at their respective weights, it was announced Wednesday on the NCAA Selection Show on The 2023 NCAA Championships will be held March 16-18 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla.

Three-time NCAA champion Spencer Lee and Real Woods are top seeds at 125 pounds and 141 pounds, respectively. Tony Cassioppi is the No. 4 seed at 285 and Patrick Kennedy is the No. 6 seed in his first NCAA Tournament at 165.

Senior Max Murin is the No. 8 seed at 149, Nelson Brands is the No. 11 seed at 174, Abe Assad is No. 12 at 184, Cobe Siebrecht (157) and Jacob Warner (197) are No. 14 seeds and junior Brody Teske is the No. 24 seed at 133.

The Hawkeyes are one of our teams in the nation, along with Oklahoma State, Missouri and Virginia Tech, to have all 10 wrestlers competing in the NCAA Championships.
