MADISON, Wis. – Senior Paula Miranda and sophomore Ximena Benites are both tied for 15th place to pace the University of Iowa women’s golf team through two rounds at the Badger Invitational.
Benites fired the Hawkeyes’ low round of the day, firing a one-over par 73, while Miranda carded her second straight 74 (+2) to finish with a 148. Both players had three birdies during Monday’s second round.
Junior Adie Maki (playing as an individual) shot a two-over par 74 in round two, putting her at +5 for the tournament with a 149. She is tied for 20th place.
As a team, Iowa shaved four-strokes off their score from the day one to day two. The Hawkeyes carded a 298, putting them in a tie for sixth with a with a 600 (302-298).
Delaware holds a 14 shot lead over Sam Houston State with a 579. Individually, Sam Houston’s Grace Jin is atop the individual leaderboard at -4, holding a three shot lead.
