2018 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten honoree. 2018 — Iowa’s utility player… started 43 games — 21 at third base, 20 games at first base, and once in left field and at second base… hit .272 with 24 runs and 30 RBIs… hit safely in 30 games and reached safely in 36 contests… had 13 (12 2-hit, one 3-hit) multi-hit contests… had a season-high seven game hitting streak from March 11-21… hit a team-best .462 (6-of-13) with four runs and three RBIs at Northwestern (5/11-13) with three multi-hit games… finished with a .357 average (5-of-14) with eight RBIs in series win over No. 12 Oklahoma State… went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a career-high six RBIs in game two win… had a bases-clearing, three-run double in the seventh… finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs in the series finale… hit .364 (4-of-11) with a pair of two-hit games in series win over No. 7 Michigan… went 2-for-4 with a triple, RBI, and two runs in game one (4/27) and 2-for-4 with a double in the finale (4/29)… hit his second home run of season, finishing 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against Missouri (5/1)… had a bases-clearing, game-tying three-run double in the eighth inning in Iowa’s 6-4 come-from-behind victory over Loras College (3/21)… hit his first home run of the season, connecting on a leadoff blast against Missouri State (3/14)… was 1-for-2 with two runs and a career-high three walks in a game two win at UAB (3/3)… had a pair of two-hit games at the Diamond 9 Sunshine State Classic… scored the game-tying run in the walk-off victory over Toledo.

at World University Games (2017) — Started six games — three at first base, two at third base, and one at designated hitter… hit safely in four games… went 1-for-2 with three RBIs against Japan (8/22)… connected on a three-run, second-inning home run.

2017 — Hit .277 with 38 RBIs and 32 runs… had 16 doubles, one triple, and five home runs… tied for third in the Big Ten in doubles (16)… finished tied for 11th in Big Ten play with 22 RBIs… started 56 games — 55 at third base and one as designated hitter… hit safely in 36 games with 15 multi-hit contests — 14 two-hit, one four-hit games… had a career-best eight-game hitting streak  April 11-23… hit .375 — second-best on team — with two doubles and a home run, four runs, and a team-high six RBIs at the Big Ten Tournament… went 2-for-4 with two RBIs against Maryland (5/25), 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in an elimination game against Minnesota (5/27), and 1-for-2 with a two-run double in the title game against Northwestern (5/28)…had a career day at Illinois (5/19), finishing 4-for-5 with four runs and two doubles… hit a three-run home run — his fourth of the season — May 13 against Ohio State… had the go-ahead two-run single against Penn State on April 29, finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the game… had a career-high four RBIs in game one against Rutgers (4/24), finishing 2-for-4 with a two-run double and two-run home run… also hit a two-run home run in game three of the series (4/23), finishing 1-for-4 with two RBIs… went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in series finale at Nebraska (4/16)… had his third multi-RBI game of the season against Western Illinois, finishing 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs… named to DQ Classic All-Tournament team after hitting .300 with three runs scored… hit his first collegiate home run against Oral Roberts (3/4).

At Iowa Western Community College (2015 & 2016) — NJCAA honorable-mention All-American as a sophomore… first-team All-Region XI and northern district team selection… hit .425 in 2016 with eight home runs, 22 doubles, and five triples with 60 RBIs, 47 runs, and six steals… had 23 multi-hit, 12 multi-run, and 15 multi-RBI contests… went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, three runs, and seven RBIs against Muscatine and 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three runs, and five RBIs at Indian Hills… honorable-mention All-Region XI selection as a freshman after finishing with a .311 (28-of-90) average with six doubles, two triples, and two home runs… drove in 21, scored 17 runs, and had a .489 slugging percentage… went 106-22 in two seasons… team finished fourth at NJCAA World Series in 2016 and fifth in 2014… helped team to back-to-back conference, Region XI, and district titles… junior college coach was Marc Rardin.

High School — Two-time first-team all-conference selection… 2014 first-team all-state honoree… 2013 elite all-state selection in football… hit .394 with nine home runs, 41 RBIs, and nine steals as a senior and .328 with five home runs, 27 RBIs, and six steals as a junior… led team to a fifth place Class 4A finish in 2014… also was a two-time elite all-state selection in football and a state qualifier and Drake Relays runner in track and field… Honor Roll recipient with a 3.9 GPA… high school coach was Dave Dirkx.

Personal — Born Aug. 26, 1995… son of Robert and Andrea Hoeg… father played baseball at Northwest Missouri State… has two older siblings, Mark and Morgan… Morgan played collegiate softball at Austin Peay and Wayne State… majoring in health and human physiology.
