2018-19 Honors – Recipient of the 2019 Jim McKay Scholarship and the team’s Irving B. Weber Award… Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient… Academic All-Big Ten selection… named to the Dean’s List and President’s List in the fall of 2018. 2018-19 — Ranked third on the team in the 1,000 free (9:28.84), fourth in the 1,650 free (15:56.94), and fifth in the 500 free (4:29.58).

2017-18 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten… Big Ten Distinguished Scholar… named to the Dean’s List for the fall and spring semesters. 2017-18 — Swam to career-bests at the Big Ten Championships in the 200 free (1:39.38), 500 free (4:27.30) and 1,650 free (15:41.13)… ranked third on the team in the 1,650 free (15:41.13).

2016-17 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten selection… Big Ten Distinguished Scholar… named to the Dean’s List during fall and spring semesters. 2016-17 — Swam to season-best times at the Big Ten Championships in the 200 free (1:40.53), 500 free (4:30.43), 1,000 free (9:40.05), and 1,650 free (16:04.15).

2015-16 — Swam collegiate-bests in 200 free (1:40.98), 500 free (4:31.58), 1,000 free (9:36.25), 1,650 free (16:00.91)… led team in the 1,000 free and had third-fastest 1,650 free time.

High School — Three-time all-state honoree… four-time All-MVC selection… earned all-state honors in the 200 free and 500 free as a junior and senior and in the 400-free relay as a sophomore… team MVP and team captain as a senior… was the state runner-up in the 200 and 500 free as a senior… helped team to a second place state finish in 2013, fourth in 2012 and 2015, and eighth in 2014… team won three conference titles (2012, 2013, 2015) and finished second in 2014… school record holder in 500 free (4:35.52)… top times are 48.09 (100 free), 1:41.94 (200 free), 4:35.52 (500 free), 9:39.89 (1,000 free), 16:14.69 (1,650 free)… USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and Academic All-American… named academic all-state and All-MVC… member of the honor roll and received the American Legion Award… National Honor Society inductee… high school coaches were Dan Duclos and Jesse Huff.

Personal — Born Aug. 22, 1996… son of Doug and Marie Colin… has two younger brothers, John and Will… John is currently on the Iowa swimming and diving team… majoring in journalism and mass communication.
