2016-17 — Appeared in two competitions on the 2N8+ crew… finished fourth (7:16.58) at the Big Ten Championship on May 14… defeated Ohio State in the morning (7:23.30) and afternoon (8:07.30) sessions of the Big Ten Double Dual on April 8… finished runner-up to Michigan State (7:10.75) in the morning session and Louisville (7:07.59) in the afternoon session of the Double Dual on April 1… placed 10th (15:43.19) on the N8 “C” crew at the Jayhawk Jamboree on Oct. 23.
Before Iowa… Rowed at Y Quad Cities rowing Club…Competed at Midwest Regatta in 2015 and won a bronze medal for Novice 8…played volleyball and track in high school.
Personal… Born June 17, 1998… daughter of Ron and Stacy Litchfield, one sister (Ella)… journalism major.
Why Iowa… I chose the University of Iowa because of their impressive journalism program. I also loved that at home feeling when I came to visit.
My favorite aspect of rowing is… I enjoy rowing because of the feeling you get after you PR or win a race. It requires a tremendous amount of power, mental toughness and endurance, but it all pays off once you set goals and achieve them.
What made you want to become a rower… I wanted to become a rower because I wanted to build my mental and physical toughness as well as my endurance to become a stronger more powerful athlete.
