Hawkeyes Rewrite Record Book

The University of Iowa women’s soccer team finished their season at 15-3-4 overall and 8-2-1 in Big Ten Conference play. The Hawkeyes earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they made their first Round of 16 appearance in program history.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s soccer team finished their season at 15-3-4 overall and 8-2-1 in Big Ten Conference play. The Hawkeyes earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they made their first Round of 16 appearance in program history.

SEASON NOTABLES
– 15 wins tied a program record. The Hawkeyes also won 15 games in 2019 and 2013.
– 12 goals allowed on the season, a program record. The previous low was 16 in 2020.
– 12 shutouts, tying the second most shutouts in program history. Iowa also had 12 shutouts in 2014 before breaking the record with 13 in 2023.
– No. 3 seed in NCAA Tournament, highest seed in program history.
– Third Place finish in the Big Ten regular season, tied a program record. The Hawkeyes also finished third in 1999.
– United Soccer Coaches ranked the Hawkeyes as high as No. 9 this season, the highest ranking in program history.
o Ranked in the United Soccer Coaches top 25 every week of the season, a program record.
o Iowa finished the season ranked No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 14 in Top Drawer Soccer’s poll.
– Four wins against ranked opponents, a program record.
– Eight Big Ten regular season wins, a program record.
– .773 winning percentage, a program record.
– 9 wins at home, ties a program record.
o The Hawkeyes attendance ranked 13th in the country and second amongst Big Ten teams. Iowa’s average attendance of 1, 479 set a program record.
– 13 games without a loss, a program record.
– Hosted second NCAA Tournament game in program history.
o The Hawkeyes hosted their first NCAA Tournament game last season.
– Advanced to the Round of 16 for the first time in program history.

HAWKEYE SENIORS
The Hawkeyes had 13 seniors/graduate students on this year’s squad. Macy Enneking, Rielee Fetty, Lauren Geczik, Maya Hansen, Maggie Johnston, and Elle Otto are graduating.

The graduating student-athletes are responsible for 52 wins, two Big Ten Championships, three NCAA tournaments, four NCAA tournament wins, one Round of 16 appearance, five Big Ten Tournament appearances, nine ranked wins, 25 goals, 25 assists, and 10 game winning goals.

Delaney Holtey, Meike Ingles, Taylor Kane, Kelli McGroarty, Kenzie Roling, Miah Schueller, and Madison Wilson all have the option to return to the Hawkeyes for the 2025 season.

ENNEKING ADDS TO HISTORIC CAREER
Enneking started all five years at Iowa, anchoring the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a pair of conference tournament championships.
–  Enneking finished her career with 33.5 career shutouts, the most of any goalkeeper in program history.
–  Enneking finished as the all-time leader in victories as a goalkeeper with 41 career victories.
– Enneking became the first Hawkeye to win Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week three times in a career and the first to win the award in back-to-back weeks.
– Enneking had 11.5 shutouts on the season, second in the single season record books. Enneking also holds the single season record after posting 12 shutouts in 2023.
– Enneking’s 14.5 victories on the season ranked second in the single season record book. Hannah Clark leads the top spot with 15 victories in 2013.
– Enneking’s 226 saves in her career rank fifth all time in program history.
– Enneking was selected to the Big Ten All-Tournament team three times, the most in program history. Enneking is the only Hawkeye to have been selected to the team more than once.

ALL-AROUND ATTACK
Iowa scored 38 goals on the season. 14 Hawkeyes scored goals this year while 14 Iowa players were responsible for 33 assists.
– Ingles led the team in points with 19. Ingles co-led the team with seven goals on the season while also co-leading the time in assists with five.
Berit Parten co-lead with seven goals also chipping in three assists. The true freshman led the team in game winning goals with three.
– Of the 38 goals scored on the season, 17 came from newcomers.
– Roling co-lead the team in assists with five. The Waverly, Iowa native added one goal on the season.

ON THE RISE
Since 2019…
– Won both Big Ten Tournament Championships in program history

– Saw Coach DiIanni surpass 300 career wins and become the winningest coach in program history
– Set a new home attendance record (2,629); the overtime win over Bucknell in 2023 was the first NCAA Tournament game hosted at the Iowa Soccer Complex
– Set a home average attendance record (1,479 in the 2024 season.

B1G Recognition
Four Hawkeyes earned All-Big Ten postseason honors this season. Four Hawkeyes marked the most in program history earning All-Big Ten honors.
– Johnston and Millie Greer were both named second-team All-Big Ten
Sofia Bush was named third-team All-Big Ten
– Parten was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team
– Schueller was Iowa’s sportsmanship award honoree

All-Region Honorees
Two Hawkeyes were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region team.
– Bush was named to the third team. Bush was the 13th Hawkeye to earn all-region honors and the ninth Hawkeye to be selected to the third team.
– Johnston earned fourth team honors. Johnston was the 14th Hawkeye to be named to the all-region team and the first Hawkeye to be named to the fourth team.

2 For the Money
Iowa’s record is 55-2-3 in its last 60 games when scoring two goals or more, which dates back to October of 2017. The Hawkeyes finished the 2024 season 12-0 in multi-goal games.

HAWKEYES IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
The Hawkeyes matched up with Missouri State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes won the match, 2-1, getting goals from Ingles and Johnston. Enneking finished the game with two saves. The Hawkeyes then traveled to Los Angeles where they took on sixth seeded Georgetown. Iowa won the match, 1-0. The Hawkeye defense allowed just five shots including one shot on goal that was saved by Enneking. Ingles’s goal in the 54th minute would go on to be the game winning goal. Iowa then lined up with seventh seeded Virginia Tech where they fell, 1-0. The Hokies were able to find the net in the 79th minute that would go on to be the game winning goal.

2025 Recruiting Class
Iowa Soccer signed seven prep student-athletes on Nov. 13th. The class includes Josie Jones (Urbandale, Iowa), Alli Macke (Ankeny, Iowa), Emma Potthoff (Iowa City, Iowa), Caroline Ready (Carrollton, Texas), Sammy Reimer (Calgary, Alberta), Liana Tarasco (Montreal, Canada), and Elle Wildman (Woodbury, Minn.)
