“Today was another really good day for both squads at Notre Dame and Missouri,” Director of Iowa Track and Field Joey Woody said. I thought the multis all competed well today, led by Abraham’s top 3 performance all-time at Iowa. He posted the No. 2 mark in the NCAA in the heptathlon. Sal had an overall event career best. The 800 group did really well at Notre Dame with a great seasonal best for Alli, finishing as the top collegian and right off of her best. The men’s 400 group competed really well today and is definitely moving in the right direction to put up some big performances in the 400 and 4x4 over the next few weeks.”

Junior Terrick Johnson clocked in a time of 1:49.03 in the 800 meters, marking the ninth-fastest time in program history.

The Hawkeyes posted several personal bests throughout the day, including senior Zidane Brown, who finished second in the 400-meter invite with a time of 46.88. On the women’s side, sophomore Arianna Williams set a career best time of 55.77.

In the women’s 800-meter invite, senior Alli Bookin-Nosbisch was the top collegiate finisher clocking in at 2:03.79.

The mile showed seven personal bests from the men and women. Carson Lane (4:10.08), Luke Knepp (4:10.14), Carson Houg (4:11.48), Yohana Yual (4:11.64), Elena Torres (4:53.32), Cameron Kalaway (5:02.28), and Jalyssa Blazek (5:04.27) all closed out the day with career bests.

The men’s and women's 4x400-meter relays were led by the Hawkeyes. The team of Gabby Cortez, Bookin-Nosbisch, Williams and Jaiden Itson finished with a first place time of 3:44.57. Johnson, Brown, James Fingalsen and Josh Pugh secured the gold, clocking in at 3:09.38.
