High school honors – – Earned honorable mention all-state honors as a senior… district special teams Player of the Year as a senior while earning first-team all-district honors three straight seasons… named to All-Area team as a senior… class valedictorian and president as a senior… National Honor Society president… Career – – Three-year football letterman as running back and linebacker… helped prep team post three-year record of 29-7, including 13-0 record and state championship as a senior… rushed 146 times for 1,270 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior, along with 11 receptions for 202 yards and five touchdowns… defense included 27.5 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries… eight kickoff returns for 280 yards and two touchdowns… as a junior rushed for 1,152 yards and 12 touchdowns on 133 attempts, to go with four receptions for 93 yards and one score… 35 tackles on defense and nine kickoff returns for 228 yards… team captain as a senior… also lettered in basketball (3) and track (4)… earned all-state honors in track… won state championship in long jump… also competed in hurdles.
