2008 — Indoor – ran collegiate bests in mile (4:21.74) and 3,000 meters (8:37.39) at Last Chance Qualifier… Outdoor – ran first leg on team-leading distance medley relay (10:17.87) at Drake Relays… ran collegiate-best 1,500 meters (4:01.29) at Musco Twilight X…Cross Country – won Iowa Invite with collegiate-best 6,000 meters (19:27)… placed 37th at Auburn Invite with a collegiate-best 24:04 (8,000 meters)… that time ranks ninth in school history… also competed at Hawkeye Invite (19:38), Roy Griak Invite (26:28) and Big Ten Championships (26:18)… letterwinner.
2007 — Track – redshirted… Cross Country – ran season-best 8,000 meters (25:31) at Loyola Lakefront Invite… team earned USTFCCCA academic all-America honors.
2006 — Cross Country – redshirted.
High School — placed ninth (14:31) at state cross country meet senior year… ran on third-place and school-record setting 3,200-meter relay (7:42.97) at state meet senior year… placed fourth in 1,600 meters (4:16.9) at state meet as a junior… two-time conference champion… three-time all-state and all-conference in cross country and track… coached by Andy Preuss and Terry Artman.
Personal — born April 11, 1988… son of Chris and Barb MacTaggart… his brother Eric also runs on Iowa[apos]s cross country and track teams… attended same high school as Hawkeye teammate Dan Kuhlman… engineering major.
