Emily Wooden Season 2022-23

2022-23 — Swam collegiate bests in 50 free (25.01) and 100 fly (59.40) at Big Ten Championships, 100 fee (59.22) and 200 fly (2:09.32) vs. Iowa State, 200 free vs. Vanderbilt (2:01.97) and 100 back at Hawkeye Invite (1:04.41)… swam on 200-free relay once, 400-free relay twice, and 400-medley relay once… letterwinner.

High School — Two-time first-team all-league honoree… two-time CIF champion… posted four top two finishes at league meet in 2021, winning 200 free and 200-medley and 400-free relays… placed eighth in 200 medley replay, ninth in 200-free relay and 15th in 400 free at CIF meet… personal bests were: 24:00 (50 free), 53.22 (100 free), 57.57 (100 fly) and 2:05.54 (200 fly)… also played volleyball as freshman and sophomore, earning Most Inspirational Award… named a Scholar Athlete… high school coach was Paul Marceau.

 

Personal — Born Feb. 2, 2004, in Whittier, Calif…. daughter of Gerald and Elizabeth Wooden… father was a swimmer and water polo player at Citrus College then played water polo at USC… he was then a professional water polo player in Barcelona, Spain… mother was a swimmer and volleyball player at Citrus College… has two older siblings, Shayne and Ariel… Ariel was a member of the Iowa swimming and diving program from 2019-22… majoring in criminology, law and justice with a second major in business.
