University of Iowa junior Kennedy Blades has been named USA Wrestling’s Women’s College Wrestler of the Year, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday.


The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics announced on Tuesday its Hall of Fame class and former University of Iowa Henry B. and Patricia B. Tippie Director of Athletics Chair Gary Barta is among the 2025 inductees.
Connor Wheeler has been named an assistant coach with the University of Iowa men’s basketball program, it was announced Tuesday by head coach Ben McCollum.
Pair of Hawkeyes Collect Big Ten Honors
Two University of Iowa baseball student-athletes – juniors Cade Obermueller and Kooper Schulte – have earned Big Ten weekly recognition, it was announced Monday by the league office. Obermueller was tabbed the league’s Pitcher of the Week, while Schulte garnered Player of the Week honors.
Iowa Upsets No. 20/21 Nebraska in Series Finale
The University of Iowa softball team defeated No. 20/21 Nebraska on Sunday afternoon in the finale of the three-game series at Bob Pearl Field. The Hawkeyes defeated to the Cornhuskers, 5-2.
No. 28 Iowa Downs Rutgers, 4-1
The 28th-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team secured a 4-1 victory over Rutgers on Sunday afternoon at the Livingston Tennis Center.

FLIGHT NIL
The Hawkeye FLIGHT Program is a cross-departmental effort that will create and oversee Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) educational programming for Hawkeye student-athletes. FLIGHT programming provides Hawkeye student-athletes the opportunity to understand their NIL rights and receive training and resources to enhance their NIL potential. FLIGHT programming is available to all interested current Hawkeye student-athletes and/or sports programs.
