Hawkeyes Finish 12th at Big Ten Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Iowa men’s golf team concluded play at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday afternoon at Scioto Country Club. The Hawkeyes finished the tournament in 12th at 69-over par (294/310/305 = 909). Northwestern claimed the Big Ten Championship title finishing the event at 23-over par. The Wildcats led the field by 15 strokes.

Freshman Noah Kent finished as the low scorer for Iowa carding 72 (+2) in Sunday’s final round. The freshman finished the event tied for 11th, his team leading sixth top-25 finish of the season. Fellow freshman Max Tjoa finished second on the Hawkeye scorecard at 18-over par in a tie for 33rd place. Tjoa saved his best round for last shooting 74 (+4) in the final round of the tournament to move up in the standings.

Senior Mac McClear finished the tournament 21-over par in a tie for 49th. Right behind McClear at 22-over par was junior Ian Meyer finishing tied for 52nd. Rounding out the Hawkeye lineup was graduate Josh Lundmark at 25-over par.

Daniel Svard of Northwestern was the individual medalist at 1-over par, leading the field by just one stroke.
