Ames, IA – The University of Iowa men’s and women’s cross country teams kicked offthe Iowa-Iowa State weekend by competing at the Iowa State Open Friday night. The men’s teamplaced four runners in the top ten while the women recorded four top ten finishes.
Sarah Arens paced the women with a second place finish. The senior ran the 5,000-metercourse in 18:32 and finished second overall. Wartburg’s Missy Buttry was the top finisher in thewomen’s race. Buttry ran away from the pack, crossing the finish line in 17:12.
