Columbus, OH – The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in 15th place after the first round of play at the Northern Invitational. Play was suspended during the second round due to darkness, and will continue Sunday morning at 8:30.
Liz Bennett and Karla Murra are currently leading the Hawkeyes. Bennett posted an 81 in the first round and is four over par with five holes to go. Murra carded an 82 after one round and is three over par through eight holes. Laura Holmes is currently eight over par and tied for 70th after 12 holes. Tied for 74th is Lauren Cole, after posting an 83 in round one she is currently seven over par with eight holes remaining. Shannon Fleming shot an 83 in round one, and is nine over par after 13 holes of the second. Virginie Bonfils is six over after 12 holes in the second round, she posted an 87 in round one.
