Waterloo, IA – The Iowa women’s cross country team finished 28th at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Saturday afternoon on the campus of Northern Iowa. Iowa finished with 725 team points. First place Brigham Young won the 32-team field with 86 points.
Nikki Chapple was the lone Hawkeye to crack the top 100. The freshman ran the 6,000-meter course in 21:25 and finished 67th overall. North Carolina’s Shalane Flanagan won the individual title by finishing the course in 19:30. Flanagan was the lone competitor to break the 20-minute mark.
