Pam Kavadas Q&A

Oct. 22, 2003

When did you start playing volleyball?
“I started playing volleyball when I was in fifth grade. I started playing year-round the summer of my freshman year of high school.”

Where is your favorite place to play on the road?
“I do not have a favorite place to play on the road. I actually hate playing on the road, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be Northwestern because its the closest place to home and my whole family gets to come and watch.”

When on the road, what do you do in your spare time?
“While on the road I spend most my spare time sleeping. I also listen to a lot of music and do some homework. And of course the obvious, gossip with the girls.”

Kavadas ranks second in the Big Ten with 3.92 digs per game.

What would you be doing if you weren’t playing collegiate volleyball?
“If I weren’t playing volleyball I would probably not be here at Iowa. I would probably be at a school in Illinois, playing some intermural volleyball and hang our with my friends a lot.”

What do you do to unwind after a match?
“Usually after a match to unwind I go out to dinner with my parents. After that I usually meet up with all the girls.”

If you were chosen to sing in a karaoke contest, what would you sing and who would you sing it with?
” I would never sing karaoke. I would make someone else sing it for me!”

How would your teammates describe you?
“I hope that my teammates would describe me as a hard worker, a leader, and someone who likes to have fun. You would have to ask them to find that out.”
