Iowa 11th After Lady Razorback First Round

ROGERS, AR – – The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in 11th place after the first round of the 54-hole Lady Razorback Invitational played today on the par-72 Pinnacle Golf Course. Iowa carded an 18-hole score of 317. Intra-state rival Iowa State leads the 19-team tournament field (297) by six strokes over host-school Arkansas (303).

Senior Liz Bennett (Sway Hampshire, England) stroked a three-over par 75 and is tied for 10th. Freshman Jill Marcum (Clarinda, IA) is tied for 43rd after shooting a 79. Sophomore Amy Riepma (Clear Lake, IA) is tied for 51st after firing an 80. Freshman Melanie Boyles (Tempe, AZ) shot an 83 and is tied for 66th place. Freshman Maggie Gelber (Winnetka, IL) is tied for 87th after carding an 85.

The second round continues Monday morning at the Pinnacle Country Club. The tournament will conclude Tuesday.
