It’s hoops season. Alford’s squad won a biggie in Maui yesterday. Bluder’s squad heads to the Bahamas for action Friday and Saturday.

It’s wrestling season and Brent Balbinot visits with Jim Zalesky about national rankings, pre-season competition, and his strategy moving forward to this year’s Big Ten and NCAA championships.

Gary Dolphin talks about Iowa quarterback Drew Tate and the Hawkeyes’ magical victory at Minnesota last Saturday in the annual battle for Floyd of Rosedale. Dolphin also visits with UI Athletic Director about the agreement between the University of Iowa and Kirk Ferentz.

Iowa’s nationally ranked field hockey team returns to NCAA Tournament participation for the first time since the 1999 campaign with a 1 p.m. (Iowa time) Saturday date with American University in College Park, Md. Brent Balbinot visits with UI Coach Tracey Griesbaum about the Hawkeyes’ season and this weekend’s post-season action.

Brent Balbinot takes a look at Sunday’s Big Ten Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships on the Ashton Cross Country Course on the UI campus. The course is dedicated at 9:45. The women’s championship will start at 10:45; the men’s race will follow.
