The Hawkeye women’s track and field team competed in the Sevigne Husker Invitation this weekend at the University of Nebraska. A total of 19 schools competed in the two-day event. Alabama, Baylor, Colorado, Drake, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, North Carolina, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, South Dakota State, Southwest Missouri State, Stanford, Tennessee, University of Texas-El Paso, Washington State, and Wyoming all sent women to compete against the hometown Huskers in the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Sophomore Peaches Roach continues to improve in the high jump. Just two weeks after setting a new school record and collegiate best mark in the high jump, Roach cleared 6-0.75 to set a new mark and qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Kineke Alexander also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 53.81 in the 400 meters. Also, 12 Hawkeyes set new collegiate marks at the meet and the 1,600-meter relay team also set a season best time.

The Iowa women will travel to Ames, Iowa, next weekend to compete in the Cyclone Invitational at Iowa State University.
