WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Today the University of Iowa men’s track and field team competed in the first day of the 2005 Big Ten Indoor Championships. Wisconsin leads the competition with 53.5 points and Iowa is in 7th place with 11 points.

Three Hawkeyes set new collegiate bests today. Also, Iowa senior Ken Kemeny provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put with a toss of 58-11.5.

The Iowa men’s team will compete in Ames, Iowa, next weekend at the NCAA Qualifying Last Chance Meet.
