WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – The Hawkeye men’s track and field team finished competition today in the 2005 Big Ten Indoor Championships. Iowa placed 10th with 22 points while the Wisconsin Badgers picked up their fifth straight Big Ten Indoor crown with 144.5 points.

Freshman Ryan Niver set three new collegiate bests and a new school record in the heptathlon with 4,930 points; the previous mark was 4,784. Also, Adam Hamilton and Chris Voller both provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the weight throw with tosses of 64-11.25 and 62-5, respectively.

The Iowa men’s team will compete in Ames, Iowa, next weekend at the NCAA Qualifying Last Chance Meet.
