Today the members of the University of Iowa women’s track and field team wrapped up competition in the Mt. SAC Relays. The Hawkeyes competed against runners from around the nation in the three-day event.

Freshman Kineke Alexander won the 400 meters in 52.73; the time also qualifies her for the NCAA Regional meet. The 1,600-meter relay team of Lindsey McCalla, Aisha Hume, Erin Sheeley, and Alexander placed third in their division with a time of 3:40.43. Sophomore Tiffany Johnson also qualified for the regional meet in the triple jump with a leap of 40-9.5. Five Hawkeyes also set new personal bests in their respective events in the meet.

The Iowa women host the Musco Twilight VII next Saturday at Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track.
