Two University of Iowa women’s relay teams qualified for final heats on Saturday and two individual athletes also qualified in their respective events on the third day of the 96th Annual Drake Relays.

Senior Derrick Burks qualified for the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.73 and sophomore Tiffany Johnson ran a qualifying mark of 13.67 in the 100-meter hurdles. The 4×100 meter relay of Johnson, Kineke Alexander, Ashley Granger, and Peaches Roach made it to the finals with a time of 45.50. Lindsey McCalla, Alexander, Erin Sheeley, and Aisha Hume qualified for the 4×400 meter finals with a time of 3:41.73.

Also, senior Kamesha Marshall set a collegiate best in the shot put with a toss of 58-6.75.

In Saturday’s competition, three Iowa athletes have been invited to participate in special heats of their events. Freshman Kineke Alexander will compete in the 400 meter dash, sophomore Peaches Roach in the high jump and senior Andy Banse in the shot put.
