The Hawkeye women’s track and field team is in tenth place after two days of competition in the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Penn State leads the field with 45.50 points while Iowa has scored just three points.
Four runners have qualified in their respective running events – Peaches Roach in the 100 meter dash, Kineke Alexander in the 400 meter dash, Aisha Hume in the 800 meter run and Tiffany Johnson in the 100 meter hurdles. Six Hawkeye athletes also set new collegiate bests during the day’s event.
Competition resumes tomorrow for the Iowa women with the triple jump slated to begin at 11:40 a.m.
