THIS WEEK — The Iowa Men’s Golf team will host the 2005 Hawkeye Intercollegiate Saturday and Sunday. This nine-team tournament will include Ball State, Butler, Loyola-Chicago, Michigan, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, St. Ambrose and Western Illinois. It is scheduled for an 9 a.m shotgun start both days. The tournament consists of 54 holes and will be hosted at Finkbine Golf Course. They will play 36 on Saturday and play the final 18 on Sunday.

LAST SEASON — Iowa ended its 2005 season with a ninth place finish at the Big Ten Championships. Luke Miller led the Hawkeyes individually tying for 29th place.

HEAD COACH Terry Anderson — Anderson is in his 13th year as Iowa’s head coach. Anderson was a four-year letterman at Iowa State. He also serves as the Director of Golf at Iowa’s Finkbine Golf Course. He was named the PGA Golf Professional of the Year for the Iowa PGA Section in 1998 and 2004.

QUOTING COACH ANDERSON — “We are coming off some successful qualifier rounds and we are hoping to play well. We want to defend last years championship and play well at home. I feel this is a great oppurtunity for our team to get off to a good start.”
