SALEM, OR — The University of Iowa women’s country team placed third at the Williamette Invitational hosted by the Williamette University. The 5,000-meter race held at Bush Park was won by No. 30 Washington who finished with a total team score of 55 points. Iowa finished two spots behind with a final team score of 112 points.
Sophomore Meghan Armstrong continued to impress finishing second with a time of 17:01. Shannon Stanley (17:49, 21st), Nikki Chapple (17:56, 24th), Racheal Marchand (18:11, 31st), Molly Esche (18:13, 34th), Jessica Schmidt (18:54, 72nd), Allison Billhardt (19:07, 84th) and Jordan Laney (19:35, 101st) also competed for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa is scheduled to compete next Saturday at Coe College Invitational in Cedar Rapids, IA.
