MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The 11th-ranked University of Iowa men’s cross country team placed fourth at the Big Ten Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota. The 8,000-meter race held at Les Bolstad Golf Course was won by No. 2 Wisconsin who finished with seven of the top eight finishers and a team score of 16 points. No. 11 Iowa finished with 124 team points.
Adam Roche (20th, 25:03), Matt Esche (21st, 25:04) and Jeff Kent (22nd, 25:10) led the pack of Hawkeyes and all finished in the top 25. Eric MacTaggart (29th, 25:24) and Dan Haut (32nd, 25:29) were not far behind and also contributed to the team score. Andy Napier (37th, 25:36) and Alan Jackson (57th, 26:25) also competed for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa is scheduled to compete next on November 12, when they host the NCAA Midwest Regionals.
