MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The 30th-ranked University of Iowa women’s cross country team placed seventh at the Big Ten Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota. The 6,000-meter race held at Les Bolstad Golf Course was won by No. 3 Michigan who finished with a team score of 42 points. No. 30 Iowa finished with 170 team points.
Meghan Armstrong (16th, 21:43) has led Iowa every race and today was no different as she finished 16th overall. Racheal Marchand (22nd, 21:59), Nikki Chapple (35th, 22:31) and Shannon Stanley (44th, 22:47) all had top 50 finishes for Iowa. Molly Esche (53rd, 23:16), Jessica Schmidt (54th, 23:16) and Allison Billhardt (74th, 24:21) also competed for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa is scheduled to compete next on November 12, when they host the NCAA Midwest Regionals.
