MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Hawkeyes competed today in the Jack Johnson Classic at the University of Minnesota. Manitoba, Marquette, Minnesota St.-Mankato, North Dakota State, South Dakota State and Wyoming also competed in the co-ed track meet.
Three women took first in their respective events. Sophomore Meghan Armstrong took first place in the mile with a personal best time of 4:48.14. Newcomer Krista Anderson was tops in the 3,000 meters with a collegiate best time of 9:37.87 and junior Tiffany Johnson won the hurdles in 8.46.
Along with several top place finishes, 12 Hawkeyes set personal bests in the meet in both field and running events. Kineke Alexander, Anderson, Armstrong, Billhardt, Amanda Chandler, Jennie Docherty, Molly Esche, Rachel Hawks, Aditya Jones, Jordan Laney, Racheal Marchand and Jessica Schmidt all set new marks.
The women’s team will compete January 27-28 in the Panther Classic in Cedar Falls, IA.
