IOWA CITY – – Hawkeye swimmer Robin Samples earned Big Ten Swimmer of the Week accolades today for her performance in a 138-62 victory over Northern Iowa Friday. Samples, a junior from Des Moines, placed second in the 50 yard freestyle, with a 25.08, and third in the 100 yard freestyle, with a 54.38. This is the first weekly honor for Samples.
The Hawkeyes return to action February 15-18 at the Big Ten Championships, on the campus of Ohio State University.
