COLUMBUS, OH – The University of Iowa women’s swimming team is in tenth place with 131 points after day three of the Big Ten Championships.

In the finals, senior Kelly Werner placed fourth in the 100 yard backstroke, recording a NCAA `B’ time of 55.53. Alison Gschwend and Chelsea Hoff also swam in the 100 yard backstroke finals, placing 11th and 15th respectively. In three-meter diving, senior Nancilea Underwood placed fourth with a score of 335.05. The 400 yard medley relay team of Gschwend, Emmy Haeger, Werner and Katie Martin placed ninth with a time of 3:47.64.

The Hawkeyes return to the pool tomorrow for day four of the Championships. Swimming prelims will begin at 10 a.m., with diving prelims at 12 p.m., and finals at 6 p.m. Fans can follow the action at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com.
