Agache Places Fourth At Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, IN – The University of Iowa men’s swimming team is in ninth place with 97 points after day two of the Big Ten Championships being held on the campus of Indiana University.

Sophomore Dragos Agache placed fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke, earning a NCAA `B’ time of 53.94, and junior Paul Divan finished 23rd at 57.65. Senior Trevor Haley placed 13th in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 3:59.10. In the 100 yard butterfly, Nathan Keeling and James Dragon finished 18th (49.22) and 21st (49.83) respectively. Senior Cameron Dye placed 20th in the 200 yard freestyle with a 1:40.35. In the 100 yard backstroke, sophomore Andrej Lenert finished 18th at 51.28. The 200 yard medley relay team of Lenert, Agache, Keeling and Seth Tweedy placed seventh at 1:31.77. The team of Dye, Tweedy, Nick Divan and Keeling finished ninth in the 800 yard freestyle relay at 6:41.78.

The Hawkeyes return to action tomorrow for the third and final day of the Big Ten Championships. Swimming prelims start at 11 a.m., with diving prelims at 12:30 p.m. Finals for both swimming and diving will begin at 6 p.m. Fans can follow the action live at www.iuhoosiers.com.
